NSV 1st Edition

I hope to make posts like this a regular thing. I will examine a series of my non-scale victories, here we go.

Last week while hanging with my friends, at around midnight a mutual friend stopped by, he and a friend of ours were going to go browsing at a few stores. I was invited, and reluctantly decided to go.
We first went to a big department store called Meijers, our location is pretty big. We walked  throughout the entire store for about 50 minutes. My only issue was the humidity, it was entirely too warm in that place. It had been a hot day, and only gotten slightly less hot at night. After we exited there we went over to another store across the street, a Kroger Marketplace. We spent about 30 minutes in there as the mutual friend bought himself food supplies, mostly frozen processed food. It became very clear of the way he ate, it made me feel odd, when I was younger I would have loved to grow up and lived on pizza rolls, and other pizza influenced food, but there was something odd about seeing a grown man buy nothing but this stuff, it was unsettling but I didn't say anything, because that would have been rude, obnoxious, and completely unlike me.

I can certainly see the appeal, this stuff is quick, easy and mostly tastes good with bare minimum effort required, and they seem harmless. Granted I have not cut out all processed food, so who am I to be feeling any kind of way, doesn't that make me a hypocrite? Maybe, but they are not part of every meal every single day (admittedly I could live off of Apple Jacks cereal for breakfast  everyday for the rest of my life). Anyways, after shopping there for a while he took me and my friend back home, once there I suddenly  remembered something.

Late November of last year, Super Smash Brothers for the Wii U was released, my friend, and that mutual friend were going to the midnight release, I was asked to tag along, I reluctantly decided to go. We got there way too early, and it was cold, so we decided to go waste some time at the WalMart across the road. We were  in there walking for all of ten minutes before my back started to give me trouble, I became grossly uncomfortable and miserable. We were in there for about 30 minutes, maybe shorter, but it felt like hours, I was tired of standing, my feet, and back were killing me, I just wanted to sit down. What sucked more, was once leaving having to stand in line at GameStop for another 20 minutes, it was agony, I was a hot mess, and did not at all enjoy the rather large crowd that filled the store. I was so relieved when it was over, I could sit down the rest of the night.

Last week, I didn't experience any of  that (well I did have some tension rising in my feet, but I was wearing my super comfy crocs), with twice the standing and twice the walking, I'm very proud of this. I really have come a long way, to me this is a pretty substantial non-scale victory.
