Weight Loss Surgery

My mother informed me recently that my aunt has decided to get weight loss surgery. She'd apparently mentioned a few times throughout the year, but now it's really happening. She's now talking with doctors and it seems all that is left is scheduling a date. My mom told me if all goes well my aunts, she might just have it done herself. This was quite the information to digest, for many reasons. I'm not really sure how to process it, it's probably best my feelings about the matter remain in limbo.

Tomorrow is Independence Day, a.k.a, the 4th July. No plans for grilling or going to see fireworks for me (maybe I'll add a little barbecue sauce to my baked chicken). Tomorrow is also weigh-in, it will be interesting to see how that goes. I did buy a 10lb dumbbell the other day so I'll be looking into ways to implement that into my workouts, or just find a specific dumbbell workout. I have a dentist appointment Tuesday.

The title, lyrics from one of my favorite bands and one of my favor songs, The All-American Reject's Move Along . It randomly popped up in my head at just the right time. I'm not going to give up, I pretty much see how sort of ridiculous my feelings have been the last 48 hours. Crumbling Cookie

Well I found out early today that my brother wouldn't quite be making his debut today because he would have to make several bus trips over several days. This somehow eased my anxiety, I mean why not? For the time-being I'll take prolonging the inevitable, which historically worsens my anxiety . I was told he wouldn't be making it here until around Friday, however later in the day, near the end,  I'm told there has been a miscalculation and he will be home sometime tomorrow. Anxiety currently sky high. Tomorrow will be quite the test, I am quite thankful that I have therapy on the same day, as my mind keeps going to dark places I have actually entertained the possibility of voluntary commitment, of course it would likely derail weight loss and what's the point of being committed if it's just going to make you worse off? Coming Out With It Already

I reckon it's time I finally discuss the big misery topic I've been so vague about the last few weeks. It's pretty much come full circle now, after a lifetime wait I decided to address it. First in therapy, then to two select friends (not the two you might think), and just recently with my mom. Now I suppose I will here. Obviously it took me a very long time to get to this point, but in the past few months I truly realized I wasn't going to truly be happy  or make any real progress in terms of my mental health if I kept having to repress who I was around other people, if I couldn't just be myself a little bit more. I started truly realizing how much these things mattered. It's hard enough masking your emotions  but masking a whole part of your identity puts an incredible strain on your life, and might be why my depression tends to yoyo so dramatically. Perhaps those days are behind me because finally at 28 I'm ready to be myself, be brave, be honest
