Finally!

Today I finally broke out of the 340's bracket and into the 30's. I weigh 339.0, I'm right at the edge, but its nice to finally see that second digit be a 3, hopefully I can keep going in this direction. Seems the changes I've made to my eating routine and the increase in workouts via variety in cardio and starting focusing on legs in weight training (hitting the leg press, leg curl, and leg extension machines) after cardio is paying off. Eating and water have been great lately, I've found its getting easier and easier to drink my morning 44oz of water. Hitting my water intake goal hasn't been an issue at all so far. vvvv A not terrible picture of me vvvv Every now and then a selfie comes along that actually isn't horrible, LOL. Hope everyone is having a good day #weightlossjourney #weightlossmotivation #gettinghealthy #healthandfitness #healthychoices #weightloss #fitness #determination #instahealth #insta #me #restingneutralface #neckcomet...

. The gym squad. I hit the gym nightly with these guys 6 days out of the week, it really helps having motivated, driven people a long side you to keep things on track. #weightlossjourney #weightlossmotivation #gymselfie #gettinghealthy #healthandfitness #healthychoices #weightloss #fitness #determination #instahealth #cardio #insta #me A post shared by Brandon Hall (@brandonwholivesathome) on Apr 18, 2017 at 8:05am PDT #transformationtuesday My old reliable sweatpants, these were a mainstay in my wardrobe for longer than I can recall. I remember the first time I realized they were too big for me, part me was sort of unusually sad, but it meant that I had come a tremendously far in my weight loss. I honestly don't plan on ever getting rid of them, it's a good reminder of what I've achieved. #transformationtuesday #weightlossjourney #healthychoices #losingweight #weightlossmotivation #weightlosssupport #weightlossinspiration #motivation #healthand...

Eliptical, New Book

Image
Last night at the gym I really challenged myself. I first took on the Stairmaster for 9 minutes 15 floors, then I got brave and decided to try out the elliptical. I gave it 7 minutes of my time and then  I hit the treadmill for 30 minutes. I'm a big fan of the elliptical now and I'm considering swamping out the treadmill completely for it, I was getting such a good sweat out of it, and its not as challenging as the Stairamaster, which I thought would be the harder of the two. At the end of that night my legs felt like mush though. I put some books on my Kindle (the real thing not the app) and started reading a Steven king book called Just After Sunset , its basically a bunch of short stories with that Steven King style of eeriness.  the first short story was a bit more light hearted than I expected from Steven King. The next story Ill start tomorrow is called The Gingerbread Girl , I find reading on my Kindle to be much more practical, and feels more authentic than tryi...

The Struggle Is Real

Image
Nutrition, nutrition, nutrition. Its not great, chips, and junk keep making their way into my mouth. The other day at therapy my therapist said I looked great, its possible I'm losing fat and gaining muscle despite the flop in nutrition. Today I went over calories for the first time in a very long time over by just over 100, it wont do any real damage realistically but its just another thing to pile on mind. I'm still in the 340s. 345 As of right now, I think my next change up will be trying to drink 44oz of water in the morning and then another 64oz +  throughout the day  Ill have Breakfast at 10:30am, lunch at 2:30, and finally dinner at 7 or 8. Breakfast Oatmeal + 2 rice cakes w/ peanut butter + perhaps a boiled egg Lunch Almonds and dried berries, string cheese, salad,  peanut butter crackers or tuna and crackers Dinner Chicken/fish or beef, mixed veggies

Photos Upon Photos

Image
Over the weekend I had a bit of an adventure with my buddy who I go to the gym with. We went to an out of town park to shoot some photography. The park had lakes and trails and a lighthouse and  all kinds of things, sadly a lot of stuff wasn't currently open to the public. We spent 4 hours walking the trails and taking pictures. It was only at the end when my energy finally depleted, we got lost and had to backtrack and not only that but we ended up taking an even longer way back, logged in some 6k steps. It was a popular park and there were lots of people walking around, my anxiety was under control up until the end, then it just felt like I was shoulder to shoulder with someone every breath, but it wasn't nearly that close and they weren't nearly that frequent, but my social meter was exhausted. Still it was a nice trip got some nice shots and truly surprised myself. Even my friend praised me, he even referenced the old me, saying this is something the old you would nev...

Didnt Think Id Last This Long

Image
I often get a lot of great positive feedback on my Instagram, today I read one that was a little different. It was pretty nice, the person praised my "transformation" but they went on to say that they honestly doubted I would last this long , and encouraged me to continue my success and further prove this person wrong. Ive been trying to figure out what I really think of this comment. What does it mean. Sure it seems clear, but this sort of trigger a thought. It made me think of how some people in the family look at my journey, I believe that most people feel the same and are surprised Ive made this far, and even now I don't think they see me reaching where I want to be. Its a weird feeling, where did the doubt come from? I suppose history, still its just odd to know someone was watching my journey and wondering when would be the day I gave up. Its not a big deal, but now it makes me wonder how many people are watching now and thinking the same thing. This doesn't g...

🏋️‍♀️

Taking in the stairmaster has honestly been a challenge, the first day I did 5 minutes, and the second day I did 3, I just didn't have it in me, yesterday the third day I managed to do 5 minutes again, all parts of my leg were burning it was tough, in fact, two minutes in I considered quitting again, but I truly pushed myself to get to that 5.  That small amount of time was very impactful on the rest of my night there. It had my legs feeling so used up, that I couldn't  do my typical treadmill routine. I had to scale back. One thing I did yesterday that I didn't do the other two days away do the step, aster first, I decided that I just don't have the stamina at the end of everything todo the  stairmaster , so I decided to make it my starter. I struggle getting to 5minutes, but the goal is to try to reach 10 soon, I'm going to try to add an extra minute on everyday. My eating has honestly been a mess, not over eating but eating the wrong things, I've noticed tha...

StairMaster

Well I wasn't planning on testing the StairMaster so soon, but yesterday I decided to be bold and adventurous and gave it go at the end of my regular routines. I hopped on one,  set it for 15minutes and figured that was me taking it easy, lol, no. I made it 5 minutes in before deciding to retreat. I was humbled, but that small amount of time up there really showed me just how beneficial it'll be. I'm going to try to do 10minutes tonight. Omg so here is an awkward story that unfolded today. I had a sucker, one of those quarter shaped ones that comes in a clear square wrapper, well, I put the wrapper in my wallet cause there wasn't a trash can in the previous store I could find. I ended up going into another store to buy my mom some chips and the wrapper quickly fell out as I got out my cash. The cashier lady goes "oh you dropped something" and then I picked it up, and as I was putting it back in my wallet she says "oh, might need that." She though...

Springing Into April

Image
Its the 4th month of the year already, time for the official months weigh-in. Last month I weighed in at 344.8. This month I weigh in at 340.4, that's 4.4 lbs down. A mild loss, its a new peak low, but I'm right there at the cliff of the 340's still, at the precipice of 330s. I'm still weighing in every day, but I'm still going to consider the beginning of the month weight my official weight of that month. Last week did not go as planned, I didn't work out two times a day like I had planned to, I went to the gym everyday but only did my biggest loser workout one day. I decided to change my eating routine. Now I eat brunch at noon, I'll have a snack somewhere during the day and have dinner between 6-8. A hearty breakfast and  dinner. So essentially I'm down to two big meals and a snack. I've been doing this for the past few days with great results. I don't feel the need to eat so much during the day like I have been with this new routine. Also i...

Non Scale Victories

Image
Being able to rest my elbow on my leg Being able to cross my legs in a chair Being able to wear a belt for the first time since childhood When the width of my body stopped reaching over to my moms in our former car Becoming a lower weight than one of my friends for the first time ever Developing collarbone and shoulder definition More stamina for everyday things Improved personal growth. People telling me my journey is inspirational Be called a role-model Someone on Instagram recently sad I looked thin and fit in one of these photos. It was a nice compliment but perhaps it was a bit over the top. "Thin" I know not, but I'm sure the sentiment was that I looked good (for me)

I'm getting myself back in the zone. I've been sloppy for weeks now with one foot in and one foot out. Last week I was stellar with exercise, but my eating and drinking needed work. It got real bad towards the end of the week when I ate out of boredom or emotion. I'm going to start getting back to my time structured days. Make sure I'm drinking enough and absolutely no eating of cookies or pies or anything of that nature. I'll have my balanced three meals, and I'll workout everyday, twice the days that include gym. I'm going to start doing my biggest loser boot camp workout in the mornings/afternoon, before I hit the gym at night. Ive been focusing a lot on things I'm realizing are actually hindering me, like focusing on not being skinny, I'm realizing the impact its having in real-time. It makes me depressed and dwell and discount the positives   (cognitive therapy reference) of everything Ive done so far. I just have to stop focusing on be...
