200 Lbs Down

Image
I went to see my doctor today, it's time to redo a lot of my lab work, also I need to start doing the labs for the kidney specialist. The doctor greets me with a congratulations she says I see you hit the 200 mark on our scale.  I wasn't sure at all what she was even talking about so  curiously I replied,  200?  Suddenly thinking "does she somehow think I'm 200 freaking pounds?!" which  would have given me a devastating amount of anxiety having to clear up that I'm, in fact,  not 200 lbs all of a sudden, but still well into 300s. However she says,   you've lost 200 lbs see , she moves a computer monitor that shows my highest recorded weight of 567, and todays of 367. It was a perfectly even 200, she goes on to say well you've probably lost more on your scale , ironically or not, no, because I've only been going by the date I knew my exact weight which wasn't until last year, but I always say I think I reached the border of or just over 600 off ...

Tonight I'm Going To Bury That Horse In The Ground

Image
First things first, it's Monday, which means it's weigh-in day. If you kept up with last week you know that there wasn't any exercise, and unfortunately I took what felt like leaps backwards in my mental and emotional state of being. My eating stayed solid for the most part, I didn't binge, I did  skip some meals do to the intensity of therapy one day, and even after that day I found that eating enough was rather iffy, but I was certainly staying hydrated because  I've learned when I skimp on both areas (eating and drinking) I typically gain weight because my body desperately holds on to what water it has (it doesn't help that I retain water rather easily to begin with). So last week I weighed 368.6, this week I weigh 365.2. I lost 3.2lbs. I didn't know what to expect this week, but three is a bit surprising, I wonder if this has something todo with the potential  new muscle. I seen my aunt over the the week for the first time since her procedure, ...

Lets Change The Mood A Bit

Image
I know my recent post have been kind of drab, and lacking the enthusiam I had even on my worst days in January. The month has been off to a bit of a fiery start and Ive just been in kind of an emotion rut, Im sure you all are sick of the "boo hoo" and "poor me" nature of recent posts. Thats not all I am, and this is suppose to be about my weight loss journey, but Ive been distracted.  I want to change the mood Ive been setting. I want to thank everyone who have been tuning into to my blog. In January alone I was shocked at the page views I was getting, and ended the month with just over 200. I wasn't getting too many responses at the time, but just knowing people were reading really brought up my spirits, and still does. This month the numbers have tripled and I'm getting more feedback than ever and I deeply appreciate it, I cannot adequately express my gratitude, but know it all means a lot to me. Keeping up with the positivity, I know Ive expr...

I CouldntThink Of A Decent Title

Image
Its Saturday, the day that begins the weekend reset. I'm ready for next week, today I really don't have anything planned, Ill be applying for some more jobs, I might have a movie marathon later on I'm not sure. I have switched from scrambled to boiled eggs. Personally Ive only enjoyed eggs scrambled, which technically is considered fried? I never called them fried eggs, but in an attempt to make healthier  eating decisions for now on, the eggs I have for breakfast will be boiled, and honestly its not so bad, boiled eggs have such an interesting consistency/texture. I have a weeks worth of multivitamins I plan to take next week, but it has some system, its a pack with like 6 different pills and its a whole thing. They are from some GNC Vitapak, I may not actually end up using them, and just end up getting some regular non-complicated vitamins. So next week I will be incorporating the video at the end of the post into my daily workouts. Today I was walking past my mother as...

The Journey Continues

Image
I tossed and turned all night throughout my sleep, and I got to bed quite late, actually I normally do. I woke up kind of aching all over. Had an egg and bacon sandwich for breakfast in addition to my regularly water in take. I don't know if Ive discussed this or not but Ive been drinking a lot of water. I have this big bottle (pictured below) that I fill up first thing in the morning and drink. I generally drink about a bottle and a half before i begin my exercise at 2pm, and at least another bottle full before the day is over.   Today I began my 3 miles a bit sluggish.  I just tried to go in with enthusiasm, and perhaps I did, but my body just wasn't into it. I was just struggling with it so much today and couldn't wait for it to be over, once I got to the one mile point I thought " this could be it, this is enough, at least I did something." But I charged ahead in spite of the defeatist mind frame I was in. It just seemed longer than ever, but I did it. ...

Charge Ahead With Enthusiasm

Image
When I was attending University, I was taking a English 101 course and the teacher was a sweet old lady who simply loved everything about her job. She loved reading, writing and all things that related to them, and she spoke about them with passion. Rarely have I come across someone with that much love for what they do. The one thing she would urge to us every single day, even when she wasn't feeling very well, was that we always charge ahead with enthusiasm in all parts of life. Ive used the line at least once, or twice in previous post, but its something that git burned in my head, and something that I believe we should try to do. With all that said I went into yesterday with one thing in mind, that my 3 mile walk must be started and completed with no bullsh--, I charged ahead with enthusiasm, and had one of the best workouts Ive had in the over 3 weeks I've been doing all this, so my English 101 teachers mantra serves a great purpose on motivating you to go into things th...

Getting Back To Buisness

Image
Yesterday I had a decent nights sleep, but I have woken up with some back discomfort, I feel like I always do. My bed isn't the best but I manage, I also noticed I have a bit of a cough, one of those sharp itchy coughs that makes you feel like you need to force another to get that feeling from the back of your throat out. I also notice a bid of lingering throat pain, but its different than before now. Seems Ive traded off some symptoms for other ones, but all in all I almost feel back to normal. Its Monday and its not going to be the easiest week because last week was so inconsistent, but Ive already prepared my mind for whats to come, wont have another week like last week even though I'm not 100% recovered from this cold. My body is able, so here goes, stay tuned.

Sunday Sick As A Mug Day

Image
Honestly, I'm feeling a bit better than yesterday, and I feel as though I can charge into next week on a clean slate and full of enthusiasm. I had a rocky road last week, but I road it just as well. And although I had my faults I didn't throw in the towel, and I believe I handled everything rationally and with logic. I still think back to the time when setbacks like the ones I occurred last week would have spun me into a spiral of doubt and irrational behavior. Progress is progress. Today turkey is on the menu for dinner, with a side helping of multiple episodes of the Twilight Zone. Here's some cool news, Ive been noticing how I'm getting gradually more space in confined areas, first my friends car, and now the shower, it hadn't dawned on me just how much more space I had till I dropped my shampoo, and normally the maneuvering would be awkward and snug, but I had a lot more space. Its a small, subtle, but huge victory. Here's my weeks recap I did for YouTub...

All The Levels Of Crap I Feel

Image
I can not begin to explain to you how much I feel like garbage, I had another so so nights sleep, but woke up at 6AM, again with a freaking headache! I don't remember how long I was up, but I eventually fell back to sleep. Ive been informed my cold my actually last a week, which is devastating news. Ive always been that lucky guy to be sick a couple days. Its like boom, one day sick, second day sick, third day things are back to normal, so this just seems so drawn out and I'm not happy. I seemed to be doing a bit better yesterday too, my congestion seems to have peaked today. My nose feels so rough to the touch, its crazy! I'm suppose to do 3 miles today, but I really just don't freaking feel like it, like honestly. I struggled with 2 yesterday, and I just want to do nothing and be sick today, like ffs. I'm going to try to walk something today though, I cant make any promises. Stay tuned.

DayQuil Saves The Day

Image
To combat my cold I had been using Mucinex for the past few days with subtle to no effect. Today I opted for DayQuil and its certainly doing a better job, I can breath a bit better, the only thing it didn't seem to remedy was my headache which has been persistent all day. That being said I was able to do two miles today, it was still a bit of a struggle, but I got it done, and I'm thankful.

Losing Weight Can Be Boring

Image
Yesterday I struggled getting through my 3 miles, a little less than the day before, but the day overall was kind of meh . I had a little bit of macaroni salad for lunch and Subway for dinner. I ended up staying the night over at a buddies, where I got a measly two hours of sleep, watching the Food Networks programming until infomercials came on. Now I'm thinking to myself "how the hell am I going to do 3 miles?" I'm wide awake, but I'm still tired, I'm drained and I haven't gotten back my energy high from last week and its so frustrating. Its too early to already be facing these issues. I guess some good news is, it appears that I have visually lost weight, I see it a little in my face, and my stomach seems ever-so-slightly smaller, and I fit into my buddies car a bit more comfortably so I know what Ive been doing has been working! Unfortunately I tip too far on the scales and cant get a reading so I don't know my actual numbers, and for right now...

The Obese, And The Valuation Of Our Lives

I read a blog post recently from someone chronicling their weight loss, and in the post I remember this little line "I remember waking up everyday hoping it isn't wasn't my last." I hear, or read stories like these from the overweight a lot, and as someone who is overweight I've never shared that fear. I guess the honest truth is I've never really feared death, I mean sure we all did at some point as kids, but I cant recall a time since I've been aware that I'm overweight that I feared Id die over it, I acknowledged it, but didn't fear it. That's because Ive never lived a fulfilling life, Ive always looked around myself, or watched on TV, movies, the hallways of schools, my peers, and always said " Id rather have that, or that's what I want." I've never woken up one day worried if it would be my last, Ive woken up hoping my life would suddenly be different, I'd suddenly be someone else, that's what I wanted. The fear...

Thinking Of A Thin Me

I've been thinking, fantasizing really, about what my life will look like once I'm thin. The idea of walking into any old store and being able to buy cloths gives me butterflies of excitement. The idea of going to the movies or to a restaurant with my friends and not having to worry about sitting arrangements, or wondering is this booth too small , am I too much into the isle, or  just not having to worry if people are staring at me, judging me, these ideas are wonderful. Thinking of the future me, the thinner me, and being able to do the things I want, being more confidant, being able to blend in, its all exciting. Id be lying though if I said I didn't wish I could get to that point a lot sooner. The year has only just begun and I'm doing all the right things, but I know I have so much time and effort ahead of me. When I was in high school I use to want to look like singer Usher. Being big in high school was rough, but that's a story for another post. I am so det...

3 Miles And All Smiles

Image
The week has begun and that means an increase to my exercise routine. Previously I mentioned I was doing Leslie Sansone 's in-door walking routines, I started initially with a single mile, then two, and now I'm doing 3. Honestly, this one was a lot more intense than I anticipated, had me sweating and huffing in no time. Its a 46 minute set and halfway through I was begging for it to be over, but I didn't quit and charged ahead and until I completed it. I cant recall a time in recent memory Ive been so proud of myself! That being said, its clear to me that 3 miles a day for the week is going to be tough, and its going to take a lot more endurance and determination than previous weeks. But I'm committed to this new healthy active lifestyle and wont slow down now. Here is the video I'm doing for the week

Sunday Fun Day

Its the last day of the weekend, and I'm just about ready for the new week to begin. Ive enjoyed my downtime, I'm ready to get the ball rolling. Watched a lot of video blogs about weight loss and Im feeling more determined than ever. Seeing transformations of successful weight loss in the Facebook group I joyed gives me so much more passion to achieve success. I have laundry to do today, some reading, and binge watching the Twilight Zone .

I Want A New Life

Image
As you may know, my name is Brandon and I live a home. I'm a big guy, I tip the scale over 500lbs and Ive been big my entire light. My weight has always held me back and its kept me from pursuing my ambitions. Now I'm taking back my life, and I know that all it takes it massive, incredibly consistent hard work, but I can do it. Last year I told myself 2015 is the year everything changes , and I mean that. Ive begun working at it, Ive cut back on eating and Im making much better eating habbits. I made this blog to chonricle my trials and put everything out there for the world to see. I hope that this blog will show my transformation over the next 12 months, and beyond! This here is me, but not for long.
